Deconstruct 1995 Philip Chancer New Cross Avenue, Wolverhampton. When relocating their Regional Headquarter from Treforest to Cardiff Bay, Shepherd Construction responded positively to the Cardiff Bay Strategy for Public Art.  In support of this, the company agreed to exceed the statutory 1% of their development budet.  Since they were a new sponsor of the arts, an award was received from the Association for Business Sponsorship of the Arts Pairing Scheme, allowing a more substantial work to be commissioned The company wanted an artist to embellish the atrium proposed for the rear of the building, facing Ocean Way.  After a limited selection procedure, Philip Chancer was commissioned to design and implement the scheme.  He chose to use the building's materials, sandblasting the toughened glass and here and there replacing it with coloured and leaded lights.  Images relating to the construction industry, Cardiff Bay and the company logo are incorporated into the design.
